Gators play at LSU on Saturday; Jaguars meet Joe Burrow, Bengals | 2MD
The Florida Gators face a tough road test when they play at LSU on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. Dolphins host AFC East foe New England Patriots.
- Sixteen-year-old Miles Russell missed the cut at the Procore Championship, his fourth attempt on the PGA Tour.
- Vince Covello of Atlantic Beach made the cut, marking his third career PGA Tour cut in 19 starts.
- All ten U.S. Ryder Cup team members playing in the tournament made the cut.

Still 16 years old, he has time to make up ground.
Russell bogeyed two of his last three holes on Sept. 12 at the Silverado Resort North Course in Napa, Calif., and finished with a 75 in the second round of the Procore Championship. Russell missed the 1-under cut by five shots at 4-over 148.
Russell, who won the Junior Players for the second time in three years on Sept. 1, had one birdie, on an 11-foot putt at the 16th hole. He also bogeyed Nos. 2 and 13.
Russell hit half of the 14 fairways for the second day in a row and hit eight of 18 greens.
Vince Covello makes cut
Vince Covello of Atlantic Beach, a Nease and University of North Florida graduate, shot 73 and made the cut at 3-under 131. He’s tied for 37th.
Covello, 42, made his third career PGA Tour cut in 19 starts. He has made 101 Korn Ferry Tour starts and won the 2019 Louisiana Open.
How did the U.S. Ryder Cup players fare?
All 10 of the 12 members of the U.S. team that were in the Procore field made the cut, led by 36-hole leader Ben Griffin. He posted a 66 and at 14-under 130 has a three-shot lead over Ryder Cup teammate Russell Henley (68) and a five-shot lead over another U.S. Ryder Cup player, J.J. Spaun (68).
U.S. captain Keegan Bradley urged the team to play in Napa. Only Xander Schauffele (whose wife recently gave birth to their first child) and Bryson DeChambeau, who is not eligible since he left the PGA Tour to join LIV Golf, did not play.
