Miguel Angel Jimenez has won for the second time in five events during the PGA Tour Champions 2025 season.

Jimenez birded the 18th at Newport Beach Country Club in Newport Beach, California, to finish 15 under and win the Hoag Classic by a shot over Stewart Cink, who also birdied par-5 closing hole, and Freddie Jacobson.

“I’m hitting very well now the ball and I have very good contact with the ball and I feel good on the golf course. I feel back again, and also I have my caddie with me that also helps to be happy on the golf course,” he said. “That’s very important.”

Jimenez birdied all three of the par 5s (Nos. 3, 15 and 18) on Sunday, the second day in a row he picked up three shots on those holes. He had 17 birdies and just two bogeys over the 54-hole competition.

Jimenez, 61, has now earned his 15th victory on the senior circuit. He was the second-round co-leader with Fred Couples at 11 under, but on Sunday, Couples couldn’t keep pace, shooting an even-par 71 to finish tied for eighth.

Y.E. Yang was solo fourth at 13 under. Steven Alker, Ernie Els and Michael Allen tied for fifth at 12 under.

The Champions tour stays on the West Coast for the Galleri Classic later this week at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California.
