The final college basketball game before the NCAA Tournament bracket unveiled up to the hype. No. 3 seed Michigan defeated No. 5 seed Wisconsin 59-53 to capture the Big Ten Tournament Championship on Sunday. The win marked Michigan’s first Big Ten title since 2018, which was the last time the program went to the Final Four.

The Wolverines finished last in the Big Ten standings last season and hired former FAU coach Dusty May to turn the program around. Less than a year later, they are the final team standing in the Big Ten Tournament. Michigan trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half before mounting its comeback.

Michigan big man Vlad Goldin and guard Tre Donaldson each scored 11 points in the win. Michigan has won its last 11 games in games decided by five points or fewer.
