Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said there will be no tribute video recognizing edge rusher Micah Parsons on Sunday night when the Cowboys host Parsons’ Green Bay Packers.
Parsons was asked Wednesday if he found that disrespectful.
“There’s a lot of things I can consider disrespectful throughout this process, but I wouldn’t say the tribute is one of them,” Parsons told reporters. “I just think there’s hard feelings maybe there for them, but, for me, I’m happy where I’m at. And we’ve got a really good football team. So I guess I can [receive] my tribute in a win, I hope.”
Jones and Parsons were the main characters of the Cowboys’ latest offseason drama, which culminated in Jones trading Parsons to the Packers for two first-round picks and three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark on Aug. 28.

Parsons, entering the final year of his rookie contract, was looking for an extension that valued his worth as a 26-year-old backfield-wrecking, three-time All-Pro at the one of the most prized positions in the NFL.
What he got was a contract dispute that dragged through the summer before Jones ultimately sent him to the Packers, who immediately made Parsons the highest-paid non-quarterback in league history with a four-year, $188 million deal.

If it wasn’t clear already, the first three weeks of the 2025 campaign have showed the Cowboys’ defensive issues extend far beyond the loss of Parsons. Dallas is off to a 1-2 start and is allowing the second-most yards per play (6.48) of any NFL team this season. Green Bay, on the other hand, is 2-1 and first in that category (3.73 yards per play allowed).

Parsons hit the ground running in Green Bay. Although he arrived still getting over a back issue, he played in the opener and tallied his first sack in a Packers uniform, helping Green Bay holster a Detroit Lions offense that has fired off 90 points in the two games since. Parsons stacked three quarterback hits the next week as Green Bay’s defense bullied Washington Commanders phenom Jayden Daniels during a Thursday night win.
A Week 3 loss to the Cleveland Browns has quieted the Super Bowl talk around the Packers, but their potential is proven.
It could be on display again this week during “Sunday Night Football” when Parsons’ Packers play the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, where Green Bay ousted the Cowboys from the playoffs in the 2023 season.

Parsons told reporters Wednesday he and Jones haven’t spoken since OTAs. They’re once again the center of attention this week, however.
Jones reportedly told media this week that he didn’t think welcoming Parsons back with a tribute video for the Week 4 matchup would be “appropriate.”
“Emmitt [Smith] was a different story,” Jones said, via The Athletic’s Jon Machota. “But that’s not to diminish Micah. I think Micah’s got enough welcome out there. We just need to show we’ve got antidotes for that.”
Parsons isn’t too worried about it.
“I think Dallas loves me,” Parsons said Wednesday. “I think they’re gonna give me a good round of applause. There’s no hard feelings there, at least from me. I think it’s going to be a great atmosphere. I think this is some of the best football you’re going to get in Dallas when it’s Sunday night against a rivalry opponent.”
