Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (48-50)
SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 2, SYRACUSE 0 (BOX)
Clay Holmes made his first appearance on a professional mound since breaking his leg, and it was just fine for a first outing. The Syracuse bullpen picked him up after he gave up a couple of runs in his brief start, as Tobias Myers and three other relievers combined to blank the RailRiders the rest of the way. Unfortunately, Syracuse’s bats were blanked for the entirety of the game.

Double-A: Binghamton Rumble Ponies (34-59)
PORTLAND 3, BINGHAMTON 2 (BOX)
The Rumble Ponies didn’t score until the bottom of the ninth inning, but that late rally came up a run shy of tying things up. R.J. Gordon walked four, but he gave up just two runs—one earned—in five innings and struck out seven. It’s been a bit of an uneven season for him, but it’s nice to see him have a good outing with his season high in strikeouts.

High-A: Brooklyn Cyclones (37-53)
JERSEY SHORE 6, BROOKLYN 5 /12 (BOX)
The Cyclones nearly had this game won in the ninth inning, but Jersey Shore’s two-run bottom of the ninth sent the game to extras. After neither team scored in the tenth, both teams scored one in the eleventh before Brooklyn was blanked in the twelfth and Jersey Shore scored to walk it off in the bottom of the twelfth. Trace Willhoite had himself a night at the plate for Brooklyn with two doubles, a home run, a stolen base, and three runs scored, and startig pitcher Nicolas Carreno had a very nice outing with six innings of one-run ball with six strikeouts.

GAME 1: ST. LUCIE 1, FORT MYERS 0 / 7 (BOX)
St. Lucie won the first game of their doubleheader thanks to the fact that their pitchers shut out the Mighty Mussels. Marco Vargas drove in the lone run of the game with an RBI single in the bottom of the third.
