Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. scored his second touchdown of the season in Thursday night’s Week 4 game against the visiting Seattle Seahawks, but it came after a very shaky first half.

The young wideout contributed to two early turnovers for the home team that faced a 14-3 deficit at intermission.

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray was targeting Harrison on an interception in the first quarter, although Arizona recovered the ball on a fumble.

Harrison then dropped a pass from Murray in the second quarter. The ball was picked up by linebacker Ernest Jones IV for another Seahawks interception.

Harrison’s only catch of the night prior to the two turnovers came on Murray’s first pass of the game, an eight-yarder six seconds into the first quarter.

NFL fans were unimpressed with the wide receiver’s showing in Thursday night’s first half.

Harrison’s struggles led to some fan comparisons to New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was selected two spots after Harrison with the No. 6 pick of the 2024 NFL draft.

Harrison did at least salvage his day in the fourth quarter with an impressive touchdown, showing clear emotion after the play:

It’s still clear there are high expectations on the former first-round pick.

Harrison, billed as the top wide receiving prospect of the 2024 draft class, finished his rookie season with 62 catches for 885 yards and eight touchdowns.

He headed into Week 4 of his sophomore season ranked second only to Trey McBride for the Cardinals team lead with 10 targets for 142 receiving yards.

Harrison has also struggled with drops early in the season. After dropping five passes in his entire 2024 season, he already recorded two over the Cardinals’ first three games of the season.

One of those drops occurred in Week 3, when Harrison was unable to hold on to a wide-open catch during a close loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

Harrison was emotional when speaking with reporters after the Week 3 loss.

“I think I know what I’m capable of, and to go out there and play to nowhere near the best of my abilities, it’s frustrating, it hurts your team. I’ve got to get better,” Harrison said Sunday.

The Cardinals will simply need to remain patient with Harrison as he tries to reach his potential.
