The First Four is officially in the books. No. 11 seed Xavier stunned No. 11 seed Texas with an 86-80 comeback win to cap two incredible days of basketball from Dayton, Ohio. The Musketeers will face No. 6 seed Illinois on Friday in the first round.

Xavier trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half. Xavier guard Marcus Foster scored 16 of his season-high 22 points after halftime to help his team advance. The loss by Texas likely ends the college career of star freshman Tre Johnson – a projected early lottery pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

No. 16 seed Mount St. Mary’s defeated No. 16 seed American 83-72 to pick up its third NCAA Tournament win in program history. Mount St. Mary’s will face Cooper Flagg and No. 1 seed Duke on Friday.
