Manny Pacquiao has never been content to just stick to boxing. From launching a political career to even dabbling in professional basketball, he is more than just a legend in the ring.
Through it all, Pacquiao’s family has stood by his side. His wife has enjoyed her own political ventures, while one of his sons is taking after him as a prospective fighter.
Here’s a closer look at Pacquiao’s family, from his parents to his wife and children.

Manny Pacquiao wife: Jinkee Pacquiao
Pacquiao married his wife, Jinkee, in 1999. The two met at a shopping mall through Jinkee’s uncle, who served as a trainer for Manny at the time.
Manny “courted her persistently” for three months, according to The Philippine Star, and the two married as his boxing career was taking off.
In 2012, Jinkee surprisingly threw her name into the political arena by running for governor of the Sarangani province, where Manny was serving as a representative.
“My husband asked me to help him run the province,” Jinkee said, explaining the decision. “Another reason is he doesn’t want to hurt two of his friends jockeying for the vice gubernatorial position.”
Jinkee won the election and served a three-year term, while Manny ran unopposed and won another term in the House of Representatives even as he continued his boxing career.

Manny Pacquiao sons
Emmanuel Jr. Pacquiao (Jimuel)
Pacquiao’s oldest son, Emmanuel Jr., is more commonly known as Jimuel.
Jimuel’s YouTube page describes him as “an aspiring boxer, hopefully a singer,” though the page was last updated in 2021. Singing appears to be on the backburner for now. He is pursuing a professional boxing career just like his father and was initially set to appear on the same card as his father’s July 19, 2025 fight with Mario Barrios in Las Vegas.
While Jimuel was pulled from the card, he has a 6-4 record as an amateur boxer and continues to pursue a career — to the dismay of his father, who initially didn’t approve. Ultimately, however, Manny allowed Jimuel to continue boxing, telling his son, “Okay, I’ll download the secrets of boxing to you.”

Pacquiao’s middle son, Michael, is a rapper who has amassed millions of views on YouTube and was nominated by a Filipino radio station for Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2020.

Manny Pacquiao dad: Rosalio Pacquiao
Pacquiao’s father, Rosalio, was born in 1957. Rosalio raised Manny in poverty, setting the stage for a remarkable rise for the boxing great, who became perhaps the most recognizable figure in the Philippines. Rosalio initially earned a living working on a farm, climbing dozens of coconut trees each day to feed his family.
Manny and his father didn’t always get along, however. The two didn’t see each other for about two decades after Rosalio left Manny’s mother for another woman and allegedly killed the family’s dog.
“He took the puppy I found and killed it,” Pacquiao said in a 2010 book. “To a young boy that was unforgiveable — it was stealing something I loved, which is far more terrible than stealing money. More than 20 years passed and I couldn’t forgive him.”
However, Manny and his father reunited in the United States in 2009, with the boxing great forgiving his father and putting the past behind them.
Rosalio, meanwhile, denied that he ever killed the family dog. The claim took on new life in 2015 when Pacquiao’s trainer alleged Rosalio actually ate the dog as well.
“It isn’t true that I killed his dog. I don’t know where the story came from,” Rosalio told Daily Mail in 2015. “Perhaps it was a misunderstanding.”
Still, Manny said he forgave his father instantly when they reunited. “Too many years had passed and we both suffered greatly because of one horrible moment in our lives,” he said, calling the moment a massive weight lifted off his shoulders.

Manny Pacquiao mom: Dionisia Pacquiao (Mommy D)
Pacquiao’s mother, Dionisia, was born in 1949 in the Sarangani province of the Philippines. While not as much is known about her, she has supported her son throughout his boxing career, traveling often, and she maintains a close relationship with Manny, Jinkee and their five children.
Dionisia has been in a relationship with Mike Yamson since 2014, after Manny’s father, Rosalio, left the family in the late 1980s.
Where is Manny Pacquiao from?
Pacquiao was born in Kibawe in the Bukidnon province of the Philippines and moved to Manila in 2007. Kibawe had a population of just over 26,000 when Pacquiao was born.
Born into extreme poverty that worsened after his father’s affair, Pacquiao was forced to drop out of high school to work and didn’t earn the equivalent of a high school diploma until 2007, when he was 28 and just breaking into politics.
Since transforming himself into one of the world’s great athletes, Pacquiao has fought all over the world but remained loyal to the Philippines. He served two terms in the nation’s House of Representatives and one six-year term in the senate, even running for president in 2022.
Today, Pacquiao lives with his wife in General Santos in the province of South Cotabato.
