Chelsea and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Hugo Ekitiké’s future, and PSG could cash in if a move happens.

The 22-year-old striker is expected to leave Eintracht Frankfurt soon, and PSG would earn 20 percent of any transfer fee thanks to a sell-on clause in his deal. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea remain interested in signing Ekitiké.

“Hugo Ekitiké is really appreciated by Chelsea, he’s a player they really like, but at the moment the negotiation is not closed at all because Chelsea were asking for information to Eintracht Frankfurt about the player and their answer was that his asking price is €100m,” Romano noted.

“So, that is the price tag from Eintracht, and at the moment that’s too expensive for Chelsea. Let’s see if the price changes or if Chelsea will decide to change their strategies later in the market.”

Manchester United are actively working to sign Ékitiké from Eintracht Frankfurt this summer, according to FootMercato.

The Premier League club have been tracking Ékitiké since his breakout days at Reims and were especially impressed with his form last season.

Per the report, United have already taken concrete steps toward a deal and have had encouraging conversations with Ékitiké’s agent. Talks between the player’s camp and United have picked up pace in recent days, with both sides optimistic following positive discussions.

FootMercato also notes that Manchester United have reached out to Eintracht Frankfurt to inquire about the striker’s potential price tag.
