PSG sold Xavi Simons to RB Leipzig earlier this year, but despite the transfer, Manchester City and Manchester United have expressed strong interest in the midfielder.
The Parisians included a sell-on clause in the deal with Leipzig, allowing them to earn additional revenue if and when Simons is sold.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal with Leipzig was €80 million, including €55 million up front. Moreover, Simons signed a contract until June 2027, though there’s no guarantee he’ll stay in Germany that long.
Ahead of the summer transfer window, rumors link the Dutchman to a sale. According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United may currently have the edge over Manchester City in the race to sign him next summer.

Fichajes reports that Manchester United have just submitted a c million offer to sign Simons. The German club probably wants to net a major profit after spending €55 million plus add-ons on the Dutchman.
Empire of the Kop recently reported that Liverpool are preparing an opening bid of around €60 million ($67.8 million) for the Netherlands international playmaker, as Arne Slot aims to boost his attack for next season.
However, despite Slot’s desire to make this player his first summer signing, the offer will likely fall short. RB Leipzig are reportedly holding out for closer to €80 million ($90.4 million).
