In a recent report, journalist Graeme Bailey stated that Manchester United are keeping tabs on FC Nordsjaelland midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi. It is believed that the Red Devils would have to compete with Arsenal and Chelsea in the race to land the Ghanaian youngster this summer.

Yirenkyi’s Impressive Rise In Danish Football

Yirenkyi has enjoyed a decent run of form at the Danish club as he has put in a run of impressive performances for them at the centre of the park. The 20-year-old has scored two goals and earned five assists in 22 matches for Nordsjaelland this season across all competitions.

The Ghanaian talent is currently among the best young midfielders in European football. Therefore, Man United would do well to bring him to Old Trafford this summer.

His current contract at the Danish club will run out in the summer of 2030, which could make it difficult for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap at the end of this campaign.

What Will Yirenkyi Bring To Manchester United?

Yirenkyi doesn’t mind working hard for his team defensively and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet. He can shoot the ball with power from long range and has got the vision to create some inviting chances for his teammates on the offensive end of the field.

The Ghanaian talent is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder or as a right-back if told to do so. However, Yirenkyi is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level.

We can expect Yirenkyi to bring more quality and depth to Man United boss Michael Carrick’s midfield in the long run. He is already good enough to serve as a good, rotational piece in the Mancunian club’s squad.

At 20, Yirenkyi has got the potential to be a future star in English football. Therefore, Carrick would be wise to move in for him soon. However, it remains to be seen whether the Ghanaian prospect can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Red Devils manage to get a deal done over the line for him at the end of this campaign.
