Manchester City centre-back Juma Bah set for Lyon loan as part of Rayan Cherki’s deal

Manchester City centre-back Juma Bah (19) is closing in on a season-long loan to Lyon, according to a report from L’Equipe. It was previously reported that Lyon’s Ligue 1 rivals RC Lens were also interested in the Sierra Leone international following a promising loan spell at Stade Felix-Bollaert in the second half of the campaign. Pierre Sage’s Lens were hoping that they could retain his services for one more season, but it seems they have lost the race to Sage’s former club, Lyon.

Indeed, as part of the €42m deal that saw Rayan Cherki leave Lyon for Manchester City, Les Gones and the Cityzens agreed that a Manchester City player would spend the 2025-2026 season on loan at Lyon and for free. Lyon were reportedly interested in Oscar Bobb and Abdukodir Khusanov, but City rebuffed their attempts as they had no plans to part ways with them.

Lyon then turned their attention to James McAtee and Claudio Echeverri, but Bah is now the leading contender to make the switch from the Etihad Stadium to the Groupama Stadium.
