Manchester United thrashed lowly Sheffield United in the Subway Players Cup as head coach Eva Olid claimed her first win since taking charge in August.

Captain Maya le Tissier’s first-half goal from the penalty spot opened the floodgates for the hosts, with Wales forward Mared Griffiths grabbing a hat-trick.
Olid’s side came into the contest having picked up their first point of the season in the Women’s Super League on Saturday at Arsenal, after losing their opener to London City Lionesses and being thrashed 5-0 by Chelsea.
