New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers remains questionable for Week 1’s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football as he makes his return from a knee injury that ended his 2025 season after just four games.
Nabers practiced in full in the sessions leading up to season kickoff before being officially listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report.

After Wednesday’s practice, head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media about Nabers’ availability, saying, “I think he’s ready to go,” though it’s been clear that they’re taking Nabers’ lead on how he’s feeling and whether or not he’ll be ready to play in Week 1.
When asked by reporters about when he’ll know whether he can play on Sunday, Nabers said, “I’ll let God tell me. Keeping my faith, and he’ll let me know, and I’ll know when it’s time.”
The Giants elevated wide receiver Braxton Berrios and signed wideout Dalen Cambre from the practice squad on Saturday ahead of Week 1, which could indicate the star will play limited snaps even if he is active, as the team bolsters its depth at the position.

Nabers is heading into the third season of his career. As a rookie in 2024, he finished fifth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting after posting 1,204 yards with seven touchdowns.
There was a lot of hype around Nabers last season after the team drafted quarterback Jaxson Dart. Unfortunately, the Giants’ top wide receiver tore his ACL in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Before the injury, Nabers had played in four games and had 271 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
This year, a healthy Nabers is expected to lead the Giants’ wide receiving corps. He should be Dart’s top receiving threat if he is out there. Nabers will be joined by third-round pick Malachi Fields and veterans Darnell Mooney and Odell Beckham Jr.

Nabers will look to bounce back in a big way in his 2026 season debut. He gets a familiar foe in the Cowboys, whom he has faced three times in his career. So far, Nabers has tallied 351 yards and two touchdowns on 29 receptions against New York’s NFC East rival.
