Turki Alalshikh has announced the new date of September 13 for the Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford undisputed super-middleweight championship clash, as well as the possibility of five potential sites where it could place.

The highly-anticipated Canelo-Crawford undisputed showdown will now take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in any one of five major cities, with New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas leading the running.

Initially, the mega-fight was set for September 12 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, but both date and venue have been moved, in order not to clash with college football games.

Alalshikh made the announcement to Ring Magazine on May 13, stating, “The Riyadh Season event could land in five potential locations across New York City, Los Angeles or Las Vegas.”

Canelo is the first-ever undisputed super-middleweight champion in a four-belt era, and became the second to do so in history after his win over IBF titlist William Scull this month.

“Bud” Crawford is a four-weight world champion and two-weight undisputed champion, who will be jumping up two divisions from super-welterweight to challenge the Mexican megastar, who is also a four-division ruler.

The winner will further cement their legacies in the sport. Canelo has enjoyed a stellar career and has been the face of boxing for many years. Although having the size advantage as a fully-fledged super-middleweight campaigner, defeating Crawford will do wonders for his CV.

However, for Crawford to win would make even bigger waves as someone who first became a world champion at lightweight.
