After winning her first grand slam title at the Australian Open earlier this year, Madison Keys returns to action in the 2025 French Open at Roland Garros as the No. 7 seed.
The 30-year-old started the season on a high as she defeated grand slam winners Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek, and Elena Rybakina en route to glory. After being under the radar for years, the reigning Australian Open champion called her slam victory the “greatest but the most exhausting thing” she’s ever done in her career, and chose to take a break from the Middle East swing in February.
As she returns to Roland Garros for her 13th main draw appearance, Keys hopes to end her struggles at the Paris major and also her poor reputation on clay. She has gone past the Round of 16 on just four occasions at the French Open, with her best being a semifinal appearance in 2018.
The American comes into the 2025 French Open with a 5-3 record on clay this season.
Here’s everything you need to know about Keys’ appearance at the French Open, including a television schedule, scores, and results from the American’s matches at Roland Garros.
When is Madison Keys’ next match at French Open 2025?
Madison Keys will take on Australia’s Daria Saville in the first round at Roland Garros, and while the American is a favourite, it might not be a cakewalk. In a head-to-head series, the players have won a match each, but Saville had the edge in their only encounter on clay, back in the 2017 Italian Open.
Keys vs. Saville Round 1 Roland Garros clash is likely to take place on Monday or Tuesday.
