Bradley played 76 minutes of Northern Ireland’s victory in Luxembourg in what was his first start this season for club or country as he works his way back to full fitness following an injury sustained in pre-season.

“It’s my first big minutes of the season after the little injury in pre-season so it was a tough night, but delighted with the victory, I thought we played really well at times,” added the Liverpool right-back.

Up next for the 22-year-old and NI is a trip to Cologne to take on Germany, who were stunned by Slovakia in their opening game.

Bradley will come up against Reds teammate and the club’s record signing Florian Wirtz, who he says he will message ahead of Sunday’s game.

“It’s going to be another difficult game but looking forward to it. We had a few jokes before we went away, not Whatsapps yet but I’ll have to get into him tomorrow and tell him to take it easy on us,” Bradley joked.

“He’s an unbelievable player. I’ve seen that from the few weeks we’ve had together in pre-season, and we’ll have to keep him quiet Sunday night.”
