Luka Dončić seems ready to take the steering wheel for the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Dončić organized a team bonding activity at the Porsche Driving Experience following Tuesday’s practice. McMenamin explained “each Lakers player will get their choice of three different cars to test out on the tracks.”
Dončić taking a leadership role is notable, as the 2025-26 campaign will be his first full season with the Purple and Gold after the Western Conference team acquired him from the Dallas Mavericks via trade last season.
The 26-year-old is also well positioned to be the future face of the franchise since 40-year-old Lebron James is entering the final season on his contract.
Organizing activities such as driving Porsche cars is sure to endear him to his teammates as he becomes more of a leader.
Los Angeles doesn’t have much more remaining time for preseason bonding activities, as it starts the regular season in two weeks against the Golden State Warriors on Oct. 21.
