Sebastian Korda, the man who recently knocked off No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz at the Miami Open, doesn’t keep score when he plays golf. Sisters Nelly and Jessica weighed in on their brother’s golf game during a pre-tournament press conference earlier this week at the Ford Championship. This marks Jessica’s first official LPGA start since 2023.

“He has a very pure swing. Short, compact,” said Nelly.

And he’s a lefty, noted Jessica.

Sebastian Korda of the USA poses with the trophy and family after defeating Tommy Paul of the USA during their Men’s Singles Final match of the Delray Beach Open at the Delray Tennis Center in Delray Beach, Florida, on February 22, 2026.

Earlier this year, Sebastian claimed his third ATP title at the Delray Beach Open, and his entire family was there to see it. Like his sister, Sebastian has battled a number of injuries over the course of his career, most recently a stress fracture in his right shin. He’s currently ranked 36th in the world.

Jessica, a six-time winner on the LPGA, took a break from the tour in 2023 due to a back injury. The medical leave turned into a maternity leave as she later welcomed her first child.

The Korda family keeps growing as both Sebastian and Nelly are engaged to be married, with Sebastian scheduled to tie the knot first. Nelly’s wedding will be sometime in 2027. Sebastian, 25, is the youngest of Petr and Regina’s three kids. Jessica is the oldest at 33, and Nelly is 27.

In two starts this season, Nelly has finished first and second, claiming her 16th LPGA title at the weather-shortened Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She is currently No. 2 in the world.

As for Sebastian’s golf game, Nelly said it almost makes her mad how good her brother is given that she doesn’t think he’s ever had a lesson.

“It would be interesting to see if he actually took it seriously and kept score and actually maybe like got down and dirty into the technique and chipping around greens how good he would be,” said Nelly. “I feel like he would be really good. I feel like he’s the most talented out of all of us with his hands.”

Jessica added her brother sometimes gets bored from the middle of the fairway and tries to hit cut 7-irons from 130 yards.

“Yeah, like high draws just because he can like shape the ball like crazy,” said Jessica. “So it’s less about keeping score for him and just more having fun and letting loose and hitting some shots.”
