The Shakopee girls golf team had its best tournament of the year at the South Suburban Conference championships.
Shakopee shot a season-best 364 to finish in fourth place at the fourth and final SSC tournament of the year on Tuesday last week at Emerald Green Golf Course in Hastings.
Lakeville North won the crown with 328, followed by Rosemount (349), Eagan (358), Shakopee (364), Eastview (367), Lakeville South (368) and Prior Lake (378). Apple Valley was ninth (396) and Farmington was 10th (438).
Besides shooting the best team score of the year, sophomore Ally Loiselle shot the lowest individual round for the Sabers this season with a 78 to finish in third place – just two strokes out of first.
Those results helped the team and Loiselle move up in the final conference standings.
The fourth-place finish for Shakopee moved it up to sixth place in the team standings with 15 points – up from seventh place. Lakeville North captured the team conference title with 35 points. Rosemount was second with 32.
Loiselle finished the season in ninth place in the individual standings with a scoring average of 85.43 in four rounds. That helped her earn All-Conference honors.
Other scores for the Sabers at Emerald Greens: Kalli Engen (94), Sam Guckeen (96), Aisha Shaikh (97), Mackenzie Peterson (104) and Hannah Weibold (109).
Boys
The Shakopee boys golf team wrapped up the season by finishing in eighth place at the South Suburban Conference championships on Thursday last week at Inverwood Golf Course.
Shakopee shot a 326 to finish in a tie for eighth place along with Burnsville.
Lakeville South dominated with a winning total of 293. Prior Lake was second with a 307, followed by Eastview (315), Apple Valley, Eagan and Lakeville North (318) and Farmington (323), Burnsville (326) and Rosemount was 10th (328).
No individual Shakopee scores were provided.
Up next for both the boys and girls golf teams is the two-round Class 3A, Section 2 tournament that will be held at Ridges at Sand Creek in Jordan on Wednesday this week and next Monday.
