The world of golf is an always-evolving thing, and such will be the case in a month and a half.
This is because of a new venture based on another with high levels of success. WTGL, a women’s version of the popular TGL league, begins play on November 8th with Los Angeles Golf Club taking on New York Golf Club. The match will be televised on ESPN for all the world to see.

Women’s sports are in the middle of a moment and WTGL is the latest opportunity for them to continue to grow. Part of what makes the concept of WTGL and TGL so unique is that, unlike other types of golf or other sports in general, players are mic’d up and their personalities are a part of the entire experience.
Enter Linn Grant, the literal Solheim Cup MVP. Grant has been a professional golf staple for a long time and might have the most-envied swing of anybody within it. Linn was kind enough to join SB Nation for a chat this week to discuss her career at large and excitement for WTGL… and part of what she is so interested in is indeed the chance to showcase her personality.
It isn’t lost on Linn that she is in professional golf at a time where these sorts of opportunities are presenting themselves at different moments. While that is the case, opportunities are one thing and capitalizing on them is another. If Grant has anything to say about it, potentially literally by way of being mic’d up as noted, WTGL is going to really succeed and elevate the women’s game.

For those unaware, TGL and WTGL are leagues where competition is indoors at the SoFi Center with some ridiculous technology powering the operation. Part of what makes it so much fun is the team aspect, and given that Grant just helped power the Europeans to victory at the Solheim Cup as noted, she is going to be a strong asset for New York in their debut match and beyond.
