Lexi Thompson has withdrawn from the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, the tournament has announced. The popular American player pulled out of the Meijer LPGA Classic in Michigan with hip pain.

“It’s hard to put into words how disappointed I am to have had to withdraw from this week,” wrote Thompson on Instagram after withdrawing from the Meijer.

Thompson, 31, tied for 12th at last year’s KPMG and took a share of ninth in 2024. The semi-retired Thompson has made six starts this season, with her best finish, a share of 12th, coming at the Chevron Championship. Earlier this month, she missed the U.S. Women’s Open for the first time since 2007 ending a streak of 19 straight.

She was replaced in the KPMG field by Carolina Chacarra.
