Dino Toppmöller, who succeeded Pierre Sage in the summer, is set to be sacked as manager of RC Lens after just six games in charge, as per a report from L’Équipe.

Toppmöller was chosen as the successor to Sage, who left for Crystal Palace having guided the Ligue 1 club to a second-place finish in the league and a maiden Coupe de France trophy.

The German has presided over just six games, including just four in Ligue 1. Les Sang et Or currently sit 10th in the league with a record of one win, one draw, and two losses. His side drew 2-2 against newly promoted Le Mans FC over the weekend. Toppmöller also guided Lens to victory in the Trophée des Champions and a UEFA Champions League win away at Slavia Prague.

L’Équipe understands that the former Eintracht Frankfurt manager will not be on the bench when Lens face AS Monaco on Friday. Yannick Cahuzac, the assistant, is set to take the reins. The former FC Lorient assistant was always seen as the potential long-term No.1, but those plans may now be accelerated.
