Layne Riggs has been super impressive during the 2026 NASCAR Truck Series season. With the Chase getting closer, Riggs is poised to win the Truck Series regular season championship, earning the top seed in the seven-race playoff. However, could Riggs move to the NASCAR Cup Series after a successful 2026 campaign?
Riggs said on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio that a Cup Series ride is a possibility for the 2027 season, as reported by Alan Cavanna. More likely than not, the driver of the No. 38 truck would join Front Row Motorsports in the Cup Series, replacing Noah Gragson in the No. 4 car moving forward.

Gragson and the No. 4 team have struggled during the 2026 NASCAR season, while Zane Smith and Todd Gilliland are locked into their rides moving forward. If Front Row Motorsports decides that Gragson won’t be a part of their future, Riggs could be looking at a promotion to the Cup Series in 2027.
