At one point in tennis history, American men dominated the U.S. Open, but in recent decades, the United States hasn’t been able to produce champions on the men’s side.

While Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic formed the Big Three in men’s singles, American men have taken a step back in their search to reclaim the U.S. Open title.
