Kyle Larson is returning to the No. 88 car for JR Motorsports. Larson will drive the No. 88 car for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR O’Reilly Series race at Darlington Raceway this weekend, the team announced. Alex Bowman, who was initially scheduled to drive the entry, will miss the next three NASCAR weekends due to his vertigo.
Larson’s last two starts in the No. 88 car for JR Motorsports have been very successful. The two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion won at Texas Motor Speedway in 2025, replacing Connor Zilisch after his back injury. Then, Larson won last week’s O’Reilly Series race at Las Vegas, giving JR Motorsports their second straight victory.

Now, JR Motorsports hopes that Larson can continue his success at one of his best tracks in NASCAR. Darlington has treated the Hendrick Motorsprots driver well over his career, as the track fits his driving style. Larson should be the favorite at Darlington on Saturday and a battle with fellow Cup Series driver Christopher Bell could be on tap.
