Kyle Larson ran into some issues, and the wall, during Sunday’s Homestead NASCAR race.

Larson had his right rear tire go flat on lap 47 of Sunday’s Straight Talk Wireless 400 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He hit the wall exiting turn 2 and suffered some damage to the right rear quarter panel.

Larson was running second when the tire went down. His team examined the underbody of the car during an extended period during the caution.

“The car is intact,” crew chief Cliff Daniels said on No. 5 team radio. “We’re going to be marching forward.”

Drivers commonly run their cars near the wall at Homestead. The best grip to keep the car’s speed up is in the high groove.

Larson restarted 34th but remained on the lead lap near the end of the first stage in Sunday’s race.
