See victory lane celebrations with 2026 NASCAR race winners

March 8: Ryan Blaney celebrates winning the Straight Talk Wireless 500 at Phoenix Raceway.

NASCAR driver Kyle Busch requested medical attention after finishing a season-best eighth in Sunday’s race at Watkins Glen International.

As the May 10 race was winding down, Busch asked his team over the radio to have a doctor meet him at his bus in the garage area afterwards, though he didn’t specify what the issue was.

“Can somebody try to find Bill Heisel? He’s the kindred doctor guy. Tell him I need him after the race, please,” Busch said.

FOX Sports’ Mike Joy did say on the television broadcast that Busch was dealing with a “sinus cold” throughout the week. And on Busch’s radio transmission, he mentioned “I’m gonna need a shot.”

Busch, a two-time Cup Series champion, moved up two spots in the 2026 standings to 24th place after his finish at Watkins Glen.

Road course ace Shane van Gisbergen took the checkered flag at the Go Bowling at The Glen for his seventh career Cup Series victory.
