Kyle Busch is confident that he can reach the NASCAR playoffs, despite being on the outside of the playoff standings. On SiriusXM NASCAR radio, “Rowdy” talked about his chances of reaching the postseason with three regular-season races remaining.

“I’ve won at all those places, so let’s go do it again, right?” Kyle Busch said. “Watkins Glen is probably my favorite road course we go to. Richmond is statistically one of my best race tracks that we go to. Daytona has been one of our best race tracks since I’ve been at RCR (Richard Childress Racing) with Team Chevrolet.”

“I feel really good about our opportunities in the next three weeks. It’s all about execution, being able to do our job right, that includes me, and going out there and setting some fast laps, being in control and being able to do that, having good pit stops on pit road, having good strategy and the race kind of fall our way. It seems like that’s more of the case these days. Having a fast car and driving up through the field, that doesn’t seem to be the case as much anymore.”

Where Kyle Busch lands in the NASCAR playoff standings

Busch needs to win one of the next three races to avoid missing the playoffs for the second consecutive year. In the updated NASCAR playoff standings, Busch is in 18th place and 73 points below the cut line.

The last time Busch won at Watkins Glen was in 2013. In his last two races at the track, Busch finished 14th (2023) and 30th (2024). At Richmond, Busch last won there in 2018, where he placed first in the spring and fall races. Earlier this year, the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion finished 12th at Richmond.

Busch has never won the Daytona 500 but has victories at Daytona International Speedway. In 2008, Busch won the Coke Zero 400 and finished first in the Duals multiple times. Earlier this year, Busch finished 34th at the Daytona 500 due to an accident. But he earned a P2 finish in last year’s Coke Zero 400 and had a P12 finish at last year’s Daytona 500.

Kyle Busch is in his third season with RCR and Team Chevrolet. This year, Busch has seven top-10 finishes and two finishes in the top five.
