Bournemouth boss Marco Rose will have to juggle his playing resources carefully when the Cherries embark upon their first season in Europe, starting at Real Sociedad on 17 September.
Uefa’s deadline for clubs to submit squads for the league phase of the Europa League was midnight on Wednesday, with Europe’s governing body revealing each club’s squads on Thursday evening.

Because of the strict rules governing “club-trained” and “association-trained” players, the Cherries have only been able to register 21 first-team players in “List A” rather than 25.
And that has meant that several senior squad members – Julian Araujo, Ben Gannon-Doak, Fraser Forster, Juanlu Sanchez, Max Aarons, Daniel Jebbison and Veljko Milosavljevic – must sit out in Europe for now.
Eli Junior Kroupi and Amine Adli, currently sidelined with injury, are included so can feature in the league phase when fit.
However, Rose can bolster his matchday squad with any number of players from “List B” – those born on or after 1 January 2005, who have been eligible to play for the club for two consecutive years since their 15th birthday (or three consecutive years including a loan spell within the same association).

That should give players from the development squad, who have beaten Chelsea and Middlesbrough in Bournemouth’s first two games in Premier League 2, some opportunities to shine on a bigger stage.
