Veteran Chargers linebacker Khalil Mack is staying put.

Mack, 35, signed a one-year deal to remain in Los Angeles next season, according to multiple reports on Saturday.

The nine-time Pro Bowler will reportedly be receiving $18 million in fully guaranteed money.

Mack is currently headed into his 13th season in the NFL and his fifth with the Chargers since being drafted by the Raiders with the No. 5 pick back in 2014.

During his time in the NFL, Mack has established himself as one of the league’s elite pass rushers, winning the 2016 defensive player of the year and racking up 113 career sacks — which ranks sixth among active players.

Since joining Los Angeles ahead of the 2022 season, Mack’s tenure with the Chargers has been generally successful, as he reached the Pro Bowl three times and recorded 36 ½ sacks across four seasons.

Mack’s deal also comes after he was mulling retirement earlier this offseason, but he ultimately decided to return to the NFL for at least another season, ESPN reported Monday.

After losing to the Patriots in the wild-card round this season, Mack acknowledged how much more time he has in the NFL, saying that he planned to take a step back and think about his future.

“You feel different in the sense of understanding how much time do you really have left to play at a certain level and what is that going to look like moving forward,” Mack said, according to the Chargers’ website. “You don’t want to make a decision based on how you feel in the present moment, especially after a tough loss. It’s about taking time and taking that step back.

“I feel like it’s the same in that sense, taking a step back and trying to really not put too much emotion behind the decision to do whatever it is I’m going to do,” he added.
