The Kentucky Wildcats will head into their second offseason under head coach Mark Pope, who led the program to the Sweet 16 in his debut campaign. He has less work to do in the college basketball transfer portal than he did in year one, when he signed nine transfers one month after taking over for John Calipari. Pope has the foundation of the 2025-26 Kentucky basketball roster built, but he still has multiple pieces to fill. The Wildcats are losing six key contributors to eligibility, including four starters. They also lost point guard Kerr Kriisa to the transfer portal after he was sidelined for most of the season due to an injury.

However, Pope has already signed four players from the portal and is looking to put the finishing touches on a Kentucky basketball lineup that could go deep in the NCAA Tournament bracket. While the Wildcats have lost most of their starting production from the 2024-25 roster, leading scorer Otega Oweh could return for another year in Lexington. He would give Pope an elite scoring option to go along with several returning underclassmen and a strong transfer class. Tulane wing Kam Williams was the first of four transfers to commit after averaging 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game as an AAC All-Freshman team member.

Pope then earned a commitment from Pittsburgh point guard Jaland Lowe, Alabama forward Mouhamed Dioubate and Arizona State big man Jayden Quaintance. The Wildcats continue to be involved with Sam Houston transfer Lamar Wilkerson, who has multiple visits planned to major programs. He averaged 20.5 points per game last season, shooting 44.5% from 3-point range on 245 attempts. Get the latest Kentucky basketball roster news at CatsPause.
