The third member of the group, Ryan Gerard, leads after day one in Fort Worth following a superb round of 64.
But despite carding the joint worst scores in their group, Keegan Bradley and Brian Harman will still be more than happy with their day’s work.
Although the name of the event has changed throughout the years, The Charles Schwab Challenge is a PGA Tour institution.
It is still one of the most prestigious titles in the game, and Bradley and Harman will both be very keen to get their names engraved on the trophy.

“It was really fun,“ he said.
“We were in a great group. We all played really well. Played great the whole day. Hit a lot of fairways, which you can score out here if you do that.
“They’re tough to hit, but soft conditions, so we took advantage of that.
“It was great. It was really fun. It’s been a while since I’ve been in a threesome where we’ve all played like that. It’s just a, I mean, it’s a lot of fun because everyone’s hitting good shots, making birdies, there’s a nice flow to the round, and it was great.“
