The Kansas basketball roster is in flux heading into the 23rd season under head coach Bill Self after losing to Arkansas in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament bracket. Self led Kansas to at least the second round of the Big Dance in his last 17 seasons before coming up short against the Razorbacks this year. Now, he is dealing with the challenge of building a Kansas basketball lineup that will lose All-American Hunter Dickinson along with three other key seniors. There are seven open spots on the Kansas basketball team, which is where the college basketball transfer portal comes into play.

Five-star signee Darryn Peterson has been vocal about recruiting potential transfers to Lawrence, even though he will not arrive on campus for two months. Kansas basketball roster news

There is currently a recruiting dead period that lasts until April 10, which means there cannot be any on-campus visits or face-to-face recruiting contact. However, coaches can still contact players and plan visits. Kansas has reportedly been in contact with Illinois transfer Tre White, who averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in his one season with the Illini.

White was committed to Kansas very early in his high school career, so the Jayhawks have a long-term relationship with him. Florida State center Malique Ewin averaged 14 points and seven rebounds for the Seminoles before entering the transfer portal. The team at Phog.net lists him among numerous other players that Kansas is targeting in the portal. Get the latest Kansas basketball roster news at Phog.net.
