Olympique de Marseille defender Emerson Palmieri (31) is a target for Serie A giants Juventus, as per a report from La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Emerson joined Marseille last season in a cut-price deal from West Ham United. Signed for less than €1m, the Italy international excelled at OM in what was, on a collective level, a tough campaign. The left-back played 37 games in all competitions, registering three assists.

Having missed out on UEFA Champions League football, OM will be forced to sell this summer, with some sales needed before the end of June. Emerson is a candidate for a departure. Looking to strengthen at left-back this summer, he has emerged as a target for Juventus, La Gazzetta dello Sport understands.

Luciano Spalletti, who worked with Emerson at AS Roma, considers the defender as something of a “footballing son”, the publication understands, and a move could be made. OM would not be in a position to close the door to an exit.
