Justin Thomas has made it clear where he believes the PGA Tour should focus more attention moving forward.
The two-time major winner was asked about his experiences playing in the northeast and did not hold back in his praise.

With Brian Rolapp now leading the PGA Tour, Thomas has effectively issued a call for more events in that region, and his reasoning is centred around the fans.
Justin Thomas urges PGA Tour to stage more events in the northeast
Thomas spoke glowingly about his past experiences playing in the northeast, highlighting both the courses and the atmosphere created by supporters.
“I love it,” he said. “I’ve won the playoff event, TPC Boston. That event, when it would finish on Monday, finished on Labor Day, and the crowds were wild.”
The American pointed to the unique nature of sports fans in that part of the United States, suggesting their passion makes tournaments stand out.

“It’s very, very passionate sports fans. I think you know you’re going to get that in the northeast, and they’re going to shoot it to you straight.”

Thomas also referenced more recent memories, including the Truist Championship at the Philadelphia Cricket Club, where he thrived.
“The Truist last year, Philly Cricket Club, I loved. I thought the atmosphere and vibe at that event were awesome.”
He admitted he would like to see the PGA Tour return there more regularly, recalling how previous playoff events used to pass through the region.
“I wish that we played up in the northeast more often. I really enjoyed it when the playoff events would kind of go up in the Jersey, New York area, and then we would always go to Boston after that.”

Strong fan atmosphere behind Justin Thomas’ PGA Tour stance
Thomas believes the energy created by fans in the northeast is difficult to replicate elsewhere on the schedule.
He also pointed to other cities like Chicago as having a similar feel, with supporters eager to engage and create a lively environment.
“I know it’s not the northeast, but Chicago, it just felt like there are a lot of great golf courses, and the fans love to come out.”
The timing of his comments is notable, with the PGA Championship set to return to Pennsylvania at Aronimink Golf Club later this year.
Thomas is clearly looking forward to being back in front of those crowds once again.
