Justin Rose might have hit the shot of the week on Sunday at the Tour Championship.
The 2018 FedExCup champion started his final round 2 over through eight holes after two bogeys, but the tide seemed to turn when he hit his tee shot at East Lake’s par-3 ninth.

Standing uphill and 208 yards from the cup, the 46-year-old Englishman was looking for a change in momentum when he launched his shot 128 feet in the air with a 6-iron. The landing would be easy to miss, because the perfect shot went straight into the cup – no bounce, no roll.
A slam-dunk ace.
The ninth has been playing as the hardest hole at East Lake this week, making the ace all the more impressive.
This is Rose’s fourth career hole-in-one on Tour and the first ace on East Lake’s ninth hole since Xander Schauffele in Round 3 of the 2019 Tour Championship.
Rose’s luck must have worn off on his playing partner, Si Woo Kim, who holed out for eagle on the following hole. The two shared a laugh and a hug as they celebrated their good fortune.
