He feels like the kind of midfielder United have lacked for years, someone with mobility, control and enough discipline to stop matches becoming stretched and chaotic.
What worries me most is not even losing Ederson specifically, it is the pattern. One target goes elsewhere, another becomes too expensive, another gets hijacked, and before long the club are talking themselves into a completely different type of player. That is how squads become mismatched. It is how managers end up with pieces that do not really fit together.
