Manu Kone’s name has emerged as a surprise option for Real Madrid in recent days, but the growing feeling around the club is that there will be no further additions unless the current squad changes before the transfer window closes.

The AS Roma midfielder has been linked with a potential move to the Santiago Bernabéu, particularly amid speculation surrounding the futures of Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga.

Both have been connected with Manchester United, and any departure could force Real Madrid to reassess their midfield options.

For now, though, there is no indication that Kone is a priority signing for the current squad.

The French midfielder remains under contract with Roma until 2029 after joining the Italian club in 2024.

Furthermore, his release clause stands at around €60 million, meaning any move would represent a significant investment.

Real Madrid appear to have a settled group in midfield, which means adding another player of Kone’s profile would be difficult to justify without an outgoing transfer.

However, the situation could change if either Tchouameni or Camavinga were to leave.

Journalist Quillo Barrios has argued, as relayed in Defensa Central, that Real Madrid’s current needs may lie elsewhere, despite the club’s interest in a player of Kone’s qualities.

“It’s true that right now you don’t need Kone’s profile because you need another profile,” Barrios said on his YouTube channel.

He added, “If Camavinga or Tchouaméni leaves, a profile like Kone’s would make more sense.”

According to the report, some believe the team continues to show familiar problems despite the positive results.

Barrios has therefore suggested that Madrid could benefit from a different type of midfielder rather than simply adding another player similar to those already available.

That debate has also reached supporters, particularly after he decided to sign for Barcelona.

Some Real Madrid fans believe the Spanish midfielder’s profile would have suited the team, adding to calls for the club to consider a different solution in the middle of the pitch.

For now, though, the squad appears close to being complete. Kone’s future at Roma is secure on paper, and there is no indication that either Tchouameni or Camavinga will leave.
