The Jets are signing center Josh Myers after agreeing to terms on a one-year, $3.5 million deal, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Myers, 26, spent the last four seasons with the Green Bay Packers after getting drafted 62nd overall in the 2021 NFL Draft and starting all 56 games he played in.

He and Joe Tippmann — drafted in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2023 NFL Draft by New York and entering the third year of his four-year, $8.36 million rookie contract — will likely compete for the starting center job this season.

Tippmann has been the Jets’ starter since entering the league, but Myers might have a slight advantage due to his relationship with newly-acquired QB Justin Fields who he was teammates with during their time together at Ohio State between 2018-2020.

During those years, the Buckeyes went 27-3 and made it to the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020, losing to Alabama. After that season, both Myers and Fields (No. 11 overall) were drafted in the first and second rounds, along with a handful of other teammates.
