Josh Morrissey found the back of the net twice as the Winnipeg Jets beat the Washington Capitals 5-4 in overtime.

It wasn’t a typical night for both Connor Hellebuyck and Logan Thompson, allowing four and five goals but the battle between the two top teams in the NHL did not disappoint.

Cole Perfetti opened the scoring, registering his 11th goal of the season on the power play.

Dylan Samberg extended the Jets’ lead with his fourth goal of the season, beating Thompson from the point.

The Capitals got on the board courtesy of a former Jets, Pierre-Luc Dubois. His 12th goal of the season came just 1:12 into the second period.

Alex Iafallo regained the Jets’ two-goal lead with his seventh of the season. Samberg picked up an assist and his second point of the night.

In an odd play where everyone lost track of the puck, Taylor Raddysh brought the Jets back into the game, making it 3-2.

Josh Morrissey capitalized on a Capitals turnover, scoring his sixth goal of the season over Thompson’s blocker.

Tom Wilson was first to a loose puck and gained body position in front of the Jets’ goal to score and bring the Capitals within one.

Alex Ovechkin tied the game at 4-4 with a one-timer from the point, recording his 24th goal of the season and 877th of his career.

Morrissey scored his second of the game to win the game in overtime, securing the vital two points for Winnipeg.
