We are on to the weekend at the 30th of 36 regular-season FedEx Cup tournaments on the PGA Tour’s 2025 slate.
The 2025 John Deere Classic started on Thursday in Silvis, Illinois, and with 36 holes in the books, it’s time for the third round at TPC Deere Run.
A year ago, Davis Thompson won the event for his first PGA Tour victory. He was the 24th golfer to make the JDC his first PGA Tour win. He is in contention once again at TPC Deere Run, tied for second, a shot back, in his effort to defend his title.
Last week’s winner, Aldrich Potgieter, started the third round three shots off the lead.

The top of the leaderboard is fluid, to say the least, on Saturday at TPC Deere Run. Cameron Champ, Kevin Roy and David Lipsky briefly were all tied for the lead but now it’s wild.
And don’t look now but here comes Matt Kuchar. Kooch shot 4-under 67 on Saturday to get to 11 under overall.
Doug Ghim has holed out five times already, twice for eagle, this week at TPC Deere Run. Joel Dahmen got in on the fun Saturday.
Roy, who is making his 50th PGA Tour start this week, shot a 62 in Detroit eight days ago and went on to finish T8 in the Rocket Classic. In Saturday’s third round at TPC Deere Run he posted birdies on his first four holes and has taken the lead in his quest for his first Tour win.
