The NASCAR Cup Series competed at North Wilkesboro Speedway, and it had an old-school feel. At the end of the night, only six cars were on the lead lap after a caution caused by Alex Bowman put several cars more than one lap down. However, a Team Penske driver also had ridiculous pace, leading to victory lane.
Joey Logano and the No. 22 team for Team Penske won Sunday night’s race at North Wilkesboro, earning their first victory of the 2026 Cup Series season. It was a dominant performance by Logano, who won Stage 2 and led 323 of the 450 laps. The driver of the No. 22 car held a steady lead over Denny Hamlin after the final pit stops.

Logano now sits 15th in the standings with a 49-point advantage to the Chase bubble. While the driver of the No. 22 car has a large gap, it isn’t safe with four races left in the regular season. Logano needed a race like North Wilkesboro, as it was arguably the best performance of his NASCAR career.
