Joey Logano Promises ‘Trash Talk’ if He Wins His Fourth NASCAR Title

Joey Logano already knows exactly what he wants to say if he wins his fourth NASCAR Cup Series championship.

The Team Penske veteran isn’t hiding the motivation behind his 2026 title chase. After years of hearing critics and haters question his championships and the playoff format that helped deliver them, Logano sees another title as a chance to answer everyone at once.

And he admits the celebration could get loud.

During The Teardown podcast, Logano was asked how much trash talk would come from him if he managed to win another championship.

“Sweetest one, oh gosh. You don’t know the amount of trash talk that’d be coming out of my mouth,” Logano said.

He then made it clear that the moment would matter.

“You got to wait for the moment. Lord knows what I’m going to say. Probably things I regret,” he added.

That motivation goes beyond simply winning another trophy.

Joey Logano Wants to Prove His Critics Wrong

Logano has won three Cup championships in 2018, 2022 and 2024. But some fans have never fully accepted his titles. So why does he have so many haters?

The 36-year-old driver has built a reputation as one of NASCAR’s most aggressive drivers. He has been involved in plenty of on-track battles and isn’t afraid to move another driver out of the way for a win. That has made him popular with some fans and hated by others.

His early career also played a role. Logano entered the Cup Series at just 18 with huge expectations and the nickname “Sliced Bread.” Some fans saw him as a driver who was given big opportunities early.

Then came his championships.

Logano has won three Cup titles, but some critics still question them because all three came under NASCAR’s old playoff format.

That is exactly why a fourth title in 2026 could mean so much to him.

Now, Logano wants to prove he can win under a different championship format.

“I mean, it is the number one motivator to me is just to prove it to everybody that we can win different formats,” Logano said.

NASCAR’s current format rewards cumulative performance across the final 10 races, with no eliminations and no winner-take-all finale. Logano enters the Chase as the №9 seed, 65 points behind regular-season leader Denny Hamlin.

A Fourth Title Would Be a Statement for Logano

The biggest statement would be bwhat that championship would mean.

If he manages to overcome the points deficit and beat the strongest regular-season teams over the final 10 races, Logano would have another argument against anyone who believes his championships were simply products of NASCAR’s old system.

He would have won championships under multiple formats.

And judging by his comments, he already knows exactly who he would be talking to afterward.

For a driver who has spent years being one of NASCAR’s most polarizing champions, a fourth title would be the ultimate response, and the trash talk is already waiting.
