The United States announced a new Ryder Cup qualification system Wednesday, and the changes are significant in almost every direction.
Jim Furyk, who will captain the American side at Adare Manor from Sept. 17-19, 2027, unveiled a framework built entirely on points earned during the 2027 season. Qualifying begins at The American Express in January and concludes at the BMW Championship at Liberty National in August, covering 31 total events. The top six players on the points list after the BMW Championship earn automatic spots, and Furyk will make his six captain’s picks during the week of Aug. 30, following the Tour Championship.
