Jessica Pegula will be riding high on confidence as she enters Wimbledon 2025. The top American player defeated five-time grand slam champion Iga Swiatek in the final of the Bad Homburg grass court tournament on Saturday.

It was the third title of the season for World No 3 Pegula and possibly the best warm-up for Wimbledon. The 31-year-old has been one of the most consistent players in the WTA Tour in the last two years and has reached the quarterfinal of all four major Grand Slams. 

Grand Slam success has eluded the American, but she inched closer to it last year by making the final of 2024 US Open.

She is set to face Italian qualifier Elisabetta Cocciaretto in the first round of Wimbledon 2025.

Jessica Pegula will face the Italian qualifier Elisabetta Cocciaretto in her opening round. With her strong baseline game, recent form she will be the clear favorite to advance to the second round.

Wimbledon 2025 tournament schedule

The first rounds of matches get underway on Monday, June 30, and will conclude on Sunday, July 13. The third grand slam tournament will take place at the All England Lawn Tennis Club in London, United Kingdom. 

The doubles tournaments and mixed events will run simultaneously alongside the major singles competitions, concluding with the women’s decider on Saturday, July 12, and the men’s final on Sunday, July 13, respectively.
