Jayden Daniels isn’t the only member of his family making waves at the NFL level.

Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported Thursday that Regina Jackson, who is the mother of the Washington Commanders quarterback, became a certified agent in the NFL within the last month.

However, she is not one of the four agents listed as Daniels’ representation with the NFLPA.

“For her, taking the agent’s test is because she wants to be knowledgeable and helping her son and guiding him through his NFL career,” public relations specialist Denise White said. “It’s important for her to have all that knowledge so she can give her son guidance, which will help him focus on the field and she can help focus off the field for him.”

As Jones explained, one must have both an undergraduate and postgraduate degree, pass a background check, pay a $2,500 fee, attend a multi-day virtual seminar and then pass an agent exam to become an NFL-certified agent.

Even after that, one must pay annual dues that range between $1,500 and $2,000.

Jackson holds an MBA in concentration entrepreneurship and a masters in public services administration and passed the exam that was administered in late July.

She is not the only parent of an NFL player to become a certified agent, as Odell Beckham Jr’s. mother, Heather Van Norman, is among those who also accomplished the feat. So did Alishia Jones, who is the mother of Indianapolis Colts cornerback Jaylon Jones, as well as Joe Linta and Patrice McDowell-Brown.

Linta is the father of former Kansas City Chiefs player T.J. Linta, and McDowell-Brown is the mother of former linebacker Preston Brown.

As for Daniels, he is off to an incredible start to his career with a 4-1 record through his first five games. He has completed an NFL-best 77.1 percent of his passes for 1,135 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions while adding 300 yards and four scores as a runner.

If he remains at that pace, he could take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year and potentially lead the Commanders to their first playoff appearance since the 2020 campaign.
