Jarrell Miller lost his hairpiece and won the fight in one of the most bizarre scenes you’ll ever see on Saturday’s Teofimo Lopez vs. Shakur Stevenson undercard in New York.
In the third round of a clash against Kingsley Ibeh, the veteran heavyweight took enough shots to the head that his toupee ended up flapping in the air and revealing a fully bald scalp. Miller took the development in stride, ripping off the piece at the end of the round and throwing it into the crowd.

He spent the rest of the fight with a ring around his scalp, like a Franciscan monk.
The loss of hair didn’t stop Miller from winning the fight, as he took a split decision 94-96, 97-93, 97-93.
His hair, meanwhile, made the rounds at Madison Square Garden, with WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman procuring it at one point.
WBC interim female super-bantamweight champion Skye Nicolson went a step further, trying on the toupee.
After the fight, Miller explained that his baldness was actually a recent development brought on by a chemical mishap at his mother’s house:
“I get to my momma’s house and she had some shampoo bottles under her table. And I shampooed — that s*** was like ammonia and bleach. I only lost my hair like two days ago. So I called my manager, he was like, ‘Let me slap that s*** on real quick.’
“[Ibeh] knocked that s*** off. But like I said before, it’s funny man. I’m a comedian.”
We are reasonably sure it wasn’t literally ammonia and bleach, as that quite famously creates highly toxic chloramine gas.

Miller’s record improves to 27-1-2 with the win, his first since March 2023. His last two bouts have seen him lose to Daniel Dubois via 10th-round TKO and fight Andy Ruiz Jr. to a majority draw.
