The controversial Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis exhibition bout has been dealt a big blow after their proposed November 14 fight at the State Farm Arena has seen MVP withdraw their requests for event permits in Georgia.
According to USA Today, Paul’s promotional outfit, MVP, withdrew requests for event permits and rule waivers – one of which being the weight difference between the combatants.
Chairman of the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission, Rick Thompson, said, “I believe it’s in the public’s interest to know that because they’ve been promoting something they shouldn’t have been.
Communications Director for the Office of Secretary of State, Robert A Sinners, stated that the event “will not be happening”.
