Jake Paul is carrying a ton of confidence into his boxing match against heavyweight legend Mike Tyson on Netflix on Friday.

Per ESPN’s Andreas Hale, Paul declared that he expects to be victorious over Tyson in spectacular fashion.

“I fear no man,” Paul said. “I want him to be that old savage Mike. He says he’s going to kill me. I’m ready. I want that killer. I want the hardest match possible Friday night, and I want there to be no excuses from everyone at home when I knock him out.”

The 27-year-old YouTuber also addressed his “ultimate heel” persona. While he’s faced his fair share of critics for fighting the 58-year-old former heavyweight champion, Paul said he fully leaned into being the villain because that’s what sells.

“I don’t care about their opinions, because I’ve seen what people cheer for,” Paul said. “I kept trying to show people that I’m a good person and look at all this good I’m doing in the world. And no one was buying it. And then one day I was like, f— it. I can go heel and haven’t looked back since.”

Paul has a career record of 10-1 with seven knockouts. Friday’s fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will be Tyson’s first match since his exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020 that ended in a draw. This fight has been sanctioned as a professional bout and will count toward both their records.
